Aftercare
The Classic Healing Method
Cling film remains one of the most trusted traditional tattoo healing methods. It’s straightforward, hygienic, and works beautifully when done right.
How Cling Film Works
After the session, your artist will wrap the tattoo in a layer of clean cling film. This prevents bacteria, dirt, and friction from irritating the area during the first few hours.

How to Care for a Tattoo with Cling Film
1. Initial Wrap
Leave the wrap on for 2–4 hours after your session, or as instructed by your artist.
2. First Clean
Wash your hands, then gently clean the tattoo with lukewarm water and mild soap. Pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel.
3. Re-Wrapping (Optional)
You may reapply a fresh layer of cling film overnight, don’t use during the day to allow the skin to breath. Always use a new, clean piece — never reuse the original wrap.
4. Moisturise
Apply a thin layer of tattoo aftercare cream after cleaning. Keep doing this twice a day until your tattoo is fully healed.

When to Stop Using Cling Film
After the first day or two, your tattoo will start to form a light protective layer on its own. Once this happens, you can stop re-wrapping overnight and continue with the standard wash-and-moisturise routine.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
❌ Leaving cling film on too long.
❌ Wrapping too tightly, which can cause sweating or irritation.
❌ Using dirty towels or surfaces on your healing tattoo.
❌ Don’t change regularly, causing trapped moisture.
